Abstract Wildflower

image

This workshop explores working with acrylics on board to create a rtextured abstract floral landscape. It begins with a softly blended background, then builds layers of movement and energy through loose grasses and stems using techniques such as paint rolling, dripping, and playful paint spattering.

There’s minimal brushwork involved—texture and mark-making are developed through alternative tools and expressive methods. The piece is completed with bold, abstract floral forms in rich impasto, finished with seed heads and shimmering metallic highlights for depth and vibrancy.

Field Landscape

This workshop focuses on creating a simple yet magical composition featuring a colourful field with trees on the horizon set against a softly glowing sky. Intricate layers of flecked paint evoke wildflowers scattered across the landscape, adding depth, texture, and movement. Gentle colour blending and a soft haze over the horizon give the scene a dreamlike, atmospheric quality.

Working with acrylics on board, this session combines easy brushwork with expressive techniques using a variety of tools such as paint rollers, silicone spatulas, stencil brushes, sea sponges, and gutta (a water-based metallic liner).

Painterly Wildflower

This workshop focuses on creating a soft, dreamy floral landscape full of depth and texture using acrylics on board. The process begins with building a gentle, atmospheric background using sponged acrylics, followed by loose layers of wild grasses applied with expressive brushwork and playful paint spattering.

Bold impasto flowers form the focal point, with painted stems, textured gold seed heads, and subtle metallic highlights bringing the composition to life. Impasto—the technique of building texture through thick layers of paint—is central to this workshop, with a variety of tools used to achieve rich, tactile effects.

Wild Meadow Landscape

Dive into a loose and expressive painting style that celebrates colour, texture, and movement. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to build depth through layers of paint and spontaneous mark making, using splattering and gestural brushwork to create the lively impression of a wildflower meadow. The focus is on freedom and flow — capturing the essence of nature rather than precise detail — as you explore how layering, contrast, and colour placement can bring vibrancy and atmosphere to your landscape. Perfect for those who love bold, energetic painting and a sense of joyful spontaneity.

Working with acrylics on board, you’ll be guided through the process of creating a mystical woodland scene. Using a layered approach, you’ll learn how to build depth and atmosphere by applying paint in a variety of ways. We’ll explore tools such as silicone spatulas, applicator bottles, rigger brushes, and even nails for scratching into the surface to add texture and detail.
